Carolinas Credit Union Foundation (CCUF)
The Carolinas Credit Union Foundation (CCUF) has been an affiliate association with Members Credit Union since 2022. As an affiliate association, all ‘Friends of The Foundation Members’ are eligible to join MCU. The CCUF was created by credit union leaders who were seeking a meaningful way to give something back to a credit union system that provided much to them over the years and in 1993 the North Carolina Credit Union Foundation was formed. It grew to include the credit unions of South Carolina in 2001 and formally became the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation. Since its inception, the Foundation prides itself as a charitable organization dedicated to the embodiment of the “people helping people” philosophy of credit unions.
When you become a Friend of the Foundation member, you will gain several exclusive member benefits:
- Champion the cooperative principle of concern for the community with highlights of the philanthropic work in the credit union system.
- Receive regular communications from the Foundation on grants, scholarships and volunteer support.
- Become eligible for membership opportunities with participating credit unions to access financial products and services.
- Access free, one-on-one financial counseling, debt management services, and financial education resources through the Foundation’s partnership with GreenPath Financial Wellness, a leading national nonprofit organization.
- Help elect the volunteer Board of Directors of the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation.
A membership fee of $15 is required to become a Friend of the Foundation member. Once your membership is active, you are eligible to join Members Credit Union. Members of CCUF must join MCU by visiting a branch in person. Friends of the Foundation Memberships are annual memberships that can be renewed each year. Even if you do not renew your membership with CCUF after the initial membership period, you retain your privilege of membership with MCU as long as your accounts/loans remain active.

North Carolina Consumers Council (NCCC)
The North Carolina Consumers Council (NCCC) has been an affiliate association with Members Credit Union since 2004. As an affiliate association, all of its members are eligible to join MCU. Founded in 1968, NCCC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization promoting consumer awareness, consumer education, and consumer protection across the state of North Carolina and beyond.
NCCC member benefits include:
- Having a voice within the organization
- Volunteer opportunities
- Exclusive member discounts at thousands of retailers, hotels, and attractions nationwide
- Auto Recall Alert Service
- Complimentary registration for the Do Not Call, Do Not Spam and Do Not Send Junk Mail lists
- Member-only consumer complaint filing service
- Instant Members Credit Union membership eligibility
A membership fee of $10 (six-month membership) is required to join NCCC. Once your membership is active, you are eligible to join Members Credit Union. Members of NCCC must join MCU by visiting a branch in person. Even if you do not renew your membership with NCCC after the initial membership period, you retain your privilege of membership with MCU as long as your accounts/loans remain active.

Hispanic League of the Piedmont Triad
The Hispanic League of the Piedmont Triad (HLPT) was formed in 1992 to foster diversity and raise awareness between the corporate community and the Hispanic Community in our region. HLPT is dedicated to identifying and addressing the specific needs of Hispanics/Latinos in our areas such as assistance with health, legal, and tax matters, citizenship and naturalization requirements, English as a Second Language, and referrals to bilingual service providers.
With your $10 membership dues to the HLPT, you receive access to the HLPT multicultural network, the ability to vote for HLPT officers, an HLPT membership directory, and the HLPT newsletter En Contacto. By joining the HLPT, you are also eligible to join Members Credit Union. Members of HLPT must join MCU by visiting a branch in person. Your membership fee of $10 is 100% tax deductible.

Affiliation Process for Your Association
If your organization communicates with its members at least annually and has a board of directors, you may affiliate with Members Credit Union. Affiliating with MCU is easy. All that is needed is a letter on your organization’s letterhead that expresses a desire to offer Members Credit Union as a benefit to your members.
Your application is then reviewed by MCU’s Board of Directors for approval. Upon approval, the application is submitted to the Credit Union Division of North Carolina. Once the Credit Union Division approves your application, your members are eligible to join.
