Turning Fun Into Impact: How Our IGNITE Training Day Supported ABC of NC

At Members Credit Union, community impact is not something we talk about once a year. It is something we live out together.

During our recent IGNITE Employee Training Day, our team found a creative and fun way to support a meaningful local partner. Employees participated in a balloon dart fundraiser where each throw brought the chance to win prizes, surprise PTO, and plenty of laughter along the way. More importantly, each dart helped make a difference.

Together, our employees raised $1,675.00 for ABC of NC.

That number represents more than just a successful fundraiser. It represents a shared commitment to the families and children right here in our community who benefit from the services ABC of NC provides.

ABC of NC is a Winston-Salem based nonprofit that offers diagnostic, therapeutic, and educational services for children on the autism spectrum and support for their families. Their mission focuses on helping individuals reach their full potential while promoting inclusion, accessibility, and hope for families navigating autism services.

Organizations like ABC of NC play an essential role in strengthening our community. They provide individualized education programs, therapy services, and family support that help children build communication skills, social confidence, and independence. These services create opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom and into everyday life.

What made this fundraiser especially meaningful was how it reflected the spirit of our team. IGNITE Training Day is designed to energize and connect employees across our organization. Adding a community impact component reminded us why we do what we do. When we come together, even something as simple as throwing darts at balloons can create lasting change.

We are grateful to every employee who participated, donated, and cheered each other on throughout the event. Your generosity continues to strengthen our partnership with ABC of NC and supports the important work they do for children and families across our region.
