Be The Hero: $38,500 Raised for Children’s Cancer Partners

Members Credit Union (MCU) is proud to announce the close of our 3rd annual “Be The Hero” fundraiser with a record-breaking donation of $38,500 to Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas (CCP). This incredible contribution was made possible through the generosity of our members, staff, and community, who came together to support children and families facing the challenges of pediatric cancer.

Over the summer, MCU invited our members to join us in making a difference by donating directly to CCP and purchasing our custom “Be The Hero” t-shirts. Every dollar raised was matched dollar for dollar by Members Credit Union, doubling the impact of each gift.

On behalf of our credit union family, Bob Donley, CEO of MCU, presented the check to Laura Allen, Executive Director of Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas, along with Dan Daniel from the CCP leadership team.

Donley shared why this cause matters deeply to MCU:

“When it comes to helping children and families in need, we have to ask ourselves, if not us, then who? This fundraiser reminds us that big change can happen through small, simple actions. We accomplished this one shirt at a time.”

With this year’s donation, MCU has now contributed over $110,000 to Children’s Cancer Partners in just three years through the “Be The Hero” campaign.

Laura Allen, Executive Director of CCP, expressed gratitude for the continued partnership:

“We are incredibly thankful for Members Credit Union’s unwavering support. These funds will immediately impact the families we serve and help ease the financial and emotional burden that comes with a childhood cancer diagnosis.”

Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas (CCP) provides comprehensive support to families of children battling cancer, including financial assistance, essential needs, and compassionate guidance throughout treatment and recovery. Their mission is to ensure that no family walks this journey alone.

The “Be The Hero” campaign continues to be a reminder that when communities unite, extraordinary things are possible. MCU is honored to walk alongside CCP in making a lasting difference in the lives of children and their families.
